Chip pins
These are the pins of the chip on the module, from the chip datasheet. The module's own header may label or expose them differently.
The pin list above is the 25-pin TB6600HG chip. The module board is not covered by an official document. Whether the stocked board uses this chip, and its terminal names and switch tables, are not verified here.

Build with it
Project ideas for the TB6600 stepper driver. Each link opens Soldr with the prompt filled in; Soldr assigns the pins, checks power and shows how to wire every part.
- Linear slide with end stop: The chip runs on 8-42 V, so a separate 24 V supply is right. No stocked motor current is sourced here: size the supply from the motor label (current at the chosen setting). Keep the setting inside the 4.5 A chip limit and the supply's 3 A rating. The Uno only sends step and direction pulses.
- Camera turntable: Unverified on a 3.3 V board: the chip's logic-high minimum is 2.0 V, but the module's input stage (opto inputs or direct) is not documented, so a 3.3 V ESP32 may need a level shifter or a driver stage; an Uno is the safer first choice. Step pulses are low-rate (CLK minimum pulse 2.2 us). No stocked motor current is sourced here: size the supply from the motor label (current at the chosen setting).
- Manual jog wheel: The potentiometer sets step rate on an Uno analog input; the driver gets only step and direction. Stay under the 200 kHz clock limit. No stocked motor current is sourced here: size the supply from the motor label (current at the chosen setting).
Common mistakes
- Running below 8 V or treating 42 V as a working voltage: the sheet says 42 V and 4.5 A are the operating maximums and to design with margin (source)
- Assuming the full 4.5 A is always available: the sheet says current is limited by power dissipation (3.2 W at 25 C with no heatsink, 40 W with an infinite heatsink) and the junction must stay below 107 C average, so heat sinking and derating matter (source: link, Absolute Maximum Ratings p.26)
- Using this chip sheet as the module manual: current and microstep are set on the module by means this sheet does not describe (source)
Not covered by the official source
- Module board undocumented: current and microstep switch tables, terminal names and optocoupler input levels are unknown.
- The datasheet is a copy hosted by LCSC; it carries the Toshiba header and date 2014-01-30.
- NEMA 23 rated phase current is not sourced here; the idea tells the builder to read it from the motor label.
- Whether the stocked board carries the TB6600HG chip is not verified.
