MS4525DO airspeed sensor: specs and pinout
The MS4525DO is a small ceramic PCB-mount pressure transducer from TE Connectivity with 14-bit pressure and 11-bit temperature output over I2C or SPI. The listing is an airspeed sensor built on it.

Chip pins
These are the pins of the chip on the module, from the chip datasheet. The module's own header may label or expose them differently.
Pins are those of the bare MS4525DO package. The airspeed module board (header order, regulator, pull-ups, pressure range, I2C address) is not covered by an official document.
| Pin | Function | Voltage | Notes | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GND (1) | Ground | 0 V | source Package, pinout, p.8 | |
| SUPPLY (2) | Positive supply voltage | 3.3 V or 5.0 V by variant | Connection diagram shows 2.7-5.5 V; 100 nF to GND | source p.4, p.8 |
| SDA / MISO (3) | I2C data / SPI data | source p.8 | ||
| SCL / SCLK (4) | I2C clock / SPI clock | source p.8 | ||
| INT / SS (5) | I2C interrupt / SPI chip select | INT not available on pin style L | source p.8 | |
| 6-8 | No connection | source p.8 |
Build with it
Project ideas for the MS4525DO airspeed sensor. Each link opens Soldr with the prompt filled in; Soldr assigns the pins, checks power and shows how to wire every part.
- Airflow readout: The stocked module's supply voltage, pressure range and I2C address are not documented, so this page cannot say how to wire it: check the module markings before connecting. Learning project.
- Fan pressure test: The stocked module's supply voltage, pressure range and I2C address are not documented, so this page cannot say how to wire it: check the module markings before connecting. The fan runs from its own supply. Learning project.
- Wind speed demo: The stocked module's supply voltage, pressure range and I2C address are not documented, so this page cannot say how to wire it: check the module markings before connecting. Differential pressure converts to speed in code; a pitot probe is a separate purchase not sold here. Hobby use only.
Common mistakes
- Running a 3.3 V part at 5 V or the reverse: supply is fixed by the ordering code and total error band is valid only at the calibrated supply voltage (source)
- Skipping the bypass capacitor: the sheet says to place 100 nF between supply and GND within 2 cm of the sensor (source)
- Assuming a single I2C address: it is set by the ordering code (0x28, 0x36, 0x46, 0x48 or 0x51), so scan the bus (source)
Not covered by the official source
- Module variant (supply, range, address, pin style) is not given in the listing title.
- Typical supply current is not given in the datasheet text; value left empty.
- Pin order read from the sheet's pinout table (p.8).
- The stocked module's supply voltage (3.3 V or 5.0 V type), pressure range and I2C address are not stated by the listing; none of the ideas promises a wiring.
