Pro Mini 5V (ATmega328P): specs and pinout
Small Arduino-compatible board with an ATmega328P, a 5 V regulator, 14 digital I/O and 8 analog inputs. It has no USB port; it is programmed through a 6-pin serial header.
Variant note. This page follows the original maker's Pro Mini 5V/16MHz reference design (DEV-11113). The board we stock is an Arduino-compatible clone: its regulator, header order and limits are not covered by an official document, so check your board's silkscreen.

Build with it
Project ideas for the Pro Mini 5V (ATmega328P). Each link opens Soldr with the prompt filled in; Soldr assigns the pins, checks power and shows how to wire every part.
- Ultrasonic distance meter: Everything runs at 5 V logic. The LCD uses the A4/A5 I2C pads. Needs a USB-serial adapter for programming; use one that exposes the DTR pin for auto-reset.
- Temperature and humidity display: A 5 V board suits 5 V modules; the DHT22 uses one digital pin. Learning project; not a calibrated instrument.
- Hallway motion chime: One input and one output pin; buzzer current must stay inside the 20 mA recommended per pin, otherwise use a transistor. Tell people who pass if it is used in shared spaces.
Common mistakes
- Putting more than 6 V on VCC: the sheet lists absolute maximum VCC as 6 V; use the RAW pin for higher supplies (source)
- Pulling more than 150 mA from the on-board 5 V regulator, for example a servo or motor: the sheet's maximum is 150 mA at 5 V (source)
- Expecting a USB port: the board is programmed through the 6-pin header (GND, CTS, VCC, TXO, RXI, DTR) with a USB-serial adapter (source)
Not covered by the official source
- Listed board is a clone; regulator type, header order on the clone and 5 V tolerance of its traces are not covered by an official document.
- Typical current draw is not given in the original maker's sheet.
- The 150 mA regulator limit is for the original maker's reference design, not necessarily for this clone.
