GUVA-S12SD UV sensor: specs
A module built around the GenUV GUVA-S12SD gallium-nitride UV photodiode. The sheet covers the bare photodiode; the module's amplifier, supply and output scaling are not documented.

Pinout
We don't publish a pin table for this part: no official source we could verify gives one. Check the labels printed on your module, and see the notes below.
The module board is not covered by an official document, so no header order is given here. The photodiode sheet's example circuit (p.4) uses an MCP6241 op-amp rated 1.8-5.5 V; whether the module uses it is not documented.
Build with it
Project ideas for the GUVA-S12SD UV sensor. Each link opens Soldr with the prompt filled in; Soldr assigns the pins, checks power and shows how to wire every part.
- UV level readout: The Uno ADC reads an analog voltage. Learning project showing relative level; confirm the module's output swing with a multimeter first.
- Sunlight logger: Log relative UV over the day. Keep the module output under the ESP32's 3.3 V ADC limit; check it before connecting.
- Daily UV trend chart: Plots the relative reading through the day as a small line chart on the display. Relative level only, with no alert and no skin-safety use; the module output is uncalibrated, so check its swing with a multimeter before connecting it. Learning project.
Common mistakes
- The sheet is for the bare photodiode, not the module; the module's supply, gain and output range are undocumented, so measure the output with a multimeter before connecting it to an ADC pin (source).pdf).
- The photodiode gives only 21 nA per UV index plus an 83 nA offset (source).pdf, p.1), so the module relies on an amplifier. Do not read the output as a UV index without calibrating against a reference.
- Response is defined over 240-370 nm (source).pdf, p.1); it is a UV-A weighted photodiode, not a certified UV index meter.
Not covered by the official source
- Module not documented; the listing's 'UV-A/UV-B' wording is not confirmed: the sheet's range 240-370 nm covers UV-A and part of UV-B.
- Pin order and module supply not documented.
