Common mistakes
- Driving VSYS outside 1.8 V to 5.5 V (source)
- Drawing 300 mA or more from the 3V3 pin: the datasheet recommends keeping the load below 300 mA (source)
- Driving GPIO with 5 V logic: the Pico IO voltage is fixed at 3.3 V (source)
What we could not confirm
- Pin-by-pin table (GP0 to GP28 and physical pins) is not included in this file.
- Typical current: no single figure. Tables 1 to 5 of the datasheet give use-case VBUS currents, and they are not summarised here.
- Listing said VSYS 3.5 V to 5.5 V and 3.3 V to 5 V in wiring notes. The datasheet range 1.8 V to 5.5 V is used.
- Per-GPIO current limit is not stated in the local text.
- Pin rows are read from Figure 2 of the official Pico datasheet (a diagram; the datasheet has no text table). The diagram marks every function; alternate functions listed are those drawn there. The 3 debug pads (SWCLK, GND, SWDIO) and the LED on GPIO25 are not header pins and are not listed.
- GPIO23, GPIO24, GPIO25 and GPIO29 are used for on-board functions and are not on the header.
