A pH interface board from Elecrow (model CRT14016P) with a combined glass pH electrode on a BNC-style probe. It outputs an analog signal for the hydrogen-ion concentration that an Arduino reads on an analog pin. It connects through a 4-pin Crowtail connector, and the package includes one 4-pin Crowtail cable. Elecrow's own wiring uses a Crowtail Base Shield (not sold here); the cable's free-end connector and wire order are not documented.

## Pinout
We don't publish a pin table for this part: no official source we could verify gives one. Check the labels printed on your module, and see the notes below.

Elecrow connects the board to analog port A0 of a Crowtail base shield with a 4-pin Crowtail cable and gives no pin-by-pin table for it. The schematic archive on the wiki is labelled v1.0 and shows a 3-pin header, so it is not used as the pinout of this 2.0 module. Check the board's silkscreen before wiring.

## Build with it
Project ideas for the Crowtail pH sensor 2.0. Each link opens Soldr with the prompt filled in; Soldr assigns the pins, checks power and shows how to wire every part.

- [Uno pH readout](https://app.soldr.ai/?prompt=I%20want%20to%20build%20a%20pH%20readout%20for%20water%20samples%20with%20an%20Arduino%20Uno%2C%20a%20pH%20sensor%20board%20and%20a%20small%20OLED%20display): The board needs 5 V and the Uno provides it with a 5 V analog input. Learning project for comparing solutions, not for water safety or health decisions. Calibrate in a neutral solution first as Elecrow's wiki steps describe. Connection: the Uno has no Crowtail socket, so use the Crowtail cable that ships with the sensor (if the cable's far end is a plug, cut that connector off first), strip the free end and identify the 5 V, GND and signal wires with a meter against the board silkscreen before powering (Elecrow does not publish the wire order); Elecrow's wiki wires the signal to A0.
- [pH and temperature logger](https://app.soldr.ai/?prompt=I%20want%20to%20build%20a%20pH%20and%20water%20temperature%20logger%20with%20an%20Arduino%20Uno%2C%20a%20pH%20sensor%20board%2C%20a%20waterproof%20DS18B20%20probe%20and%20a%20data%20logger%20shield%20with%20a%20real-time%20clock%20and%20SD%20card): Elecrow gives a 0 to 60 C measuring range, so log temperature next to pH and keep the water inside that range. The DS18B20 needs a data pull-up resistor from the resistor pack of 4.7 kohm (check that your resistor pack contains that value). Learning project only.
- [Spot-check notebook](https://app.soldr.ai/?prompt=I%20want%20to%20build%20a%20pH%20spot-check%20notebook%20that%20stamps%20each%20reading%20with%20the%20time%20using%20an%20Arduino%20Uno%2C%20a%20pH%20sensor%20board%2C%20a%20DS3231%20clock%2C%20a%20push%20button%20and%20an%20OLED%20display): Press the button after the reading settles (under 2 minutes) to record a time-stamped value on the OLED. A learning project for comparing samples, not a measurement for safety or health decisions.

## Common mistakes

- Powering it from 3.3 V or driving a 3.3 V board's ADC from it: Elecrow specifies a 5 V working voltage and does not give the output range, so use a 5 V Arduino analog input unless you measure the output first (source: [link](https://static-cdn.elecrow.com/wiki/crowtail--ph-sensor.html), Specification)
- Using the example code unchanged: the sample sketch assumes a 4.95 V reference, an offset of 365 counts and 59.16 mV per pH unit, so check the reading in a neutral solution first and adjust the constants (source: [link](https://static-cdn.elecrow.com/wiki/crowtail--ph-sensor.html), Usage steps 3 to 5)
- Reading too soon: the response time is under 2 minutes, so wait for the reading to settle after moving the electrode between solutions (source: [link](https://static-cdn.elecrow.com/wiki/crowtail--ph-sensor.html), Features)

## Not covered by the official source

- No current figure, output voltage range, accuracy or calibration-solution procedure is given.
- The wiki says the electrode's plastic guard can be used as a stirring rod, while the product page says it cannot, so no handling advice is given here.
- The wiki page is titled 'Crowtail- PH Sensor' and the schematic archive is labelled v1.0; no separate 2.0 document is available.
- The far end of the supplied Crowtail cable and its wire order are not documented; no Crowtail base shield is sold here.
