## Common mistakes

- Connecting more than one power option at once: the guide says the three options are mutually exclusive and only one may be used ([source](https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp-dev-kits/en/latest/esp32/esp32-devkitc/user_guide.html))
- Using D0, D1, D2, D3, CMD or CLK for your own signals: the guide says these pins are used internally for communication with the SPI flash ([source](https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp-dev-kits/en/latest/esp32/esp32-devkitc/user_guide.html))
- Feeding 5V into the ESP32 pins: the ESP32 chip operating voltage is 2.3 V to 3.6 V ([source](https://www.espressif.com/sites/default/files/documentation/esp32_datasheet_en.pdf))

## What we could not confirm

- Module is ESP32-WROOM-32E, whose datasheet is not in the local set. Module flash, module operating voltage and module ambient range are therefore not stated. The local WROOM-32 datasheet covers the non-E module and is not used for values.
- Chip variant: the listing's ESP32-D0WDQ6 is not named in the DevKitC V4 guide, so the listing value is not used.
- Micro-USB input voltage: the guide does not give a voltage figure.
- GPIO logic level and per-pin current are not stated in the guide or in the chip text read.
- Pin table is the Espressif ESP32-DevKitC V4 user guide (J2/J3). The listing board is a compatible clone: header order and silk labels were not checked against the clone.
- GPIO voltage rows cite the ESP32 chip datasheet DC characteristics (VIH max VDD + 0.3 V); the dev-kit guide itself does not state a pin voltage.
